A practice in art direction, this Shakespeare book cover collection includes a comedy, tragedy, and romance. These whimsical covers were hand-paper-cut, then photographed in the studio on colored boards to bring out the most interesting shadows. They were then printed, and finally cut for their books. This was an excellent and fun collaboration with photographer Danielle Barski, who tirelessly worked for many hours over many days with me to get the shadows and my vision perfect.

Complete brand identity package for the National Museum of Women in the Arts. After visiting the museum on a conference trip to Washington DC, I was able to form a solid concept to tell their story. This system includes: logos, business cards, brand guidelines—including branding of their Mezzanine Cafe—calendar mailer, visitor map with a poster of the current exhibition on the inside when unfolded, company swag, and a website redesign.

IND features the clean, simple sans design of mr eaves—with its squared off terminals and narrower width—and the traditional qualities of mrs eaves—with adnate serifs and transitional style. Strong as display for headlines, logotypes, letterheads, and other customized text, IND is bold with both masculine and feminine moments, reflecting the eaves in a lovely paradox of imperfect perfection. This typeface comes with numerals, a fun and quirky set of glyphs and ligatures, and alternative ways to combine letterforms.
StijlHaus (Style House) is a modern typeface inspired by De Stijl and Bauhaus movements and architecture. StijlHaus is best used as a display typeface, or for unique drop caps. This typeface was created using Helvetica Neue Ultra Light. Combining high contrast between hairline and hand-crafted extra-bold strokes, and morphing lowercase with uppercase, this typeface reflects the strong grid use and geometric shapes of the movements, then blends with organic moments and fresh color fills for an unexpected twist and rhythm.
